Easy Food Life I Healthy Food Swaps. Hey, health nut! This is Nikole from HealthNut Nutrition and today I'm going to show you how to rock your New Year's resolutions with 20 healthy food exchanges. These are super easy and delicious things you can do to make small changes to your plate to feel more energized and alive for the new year. And I just wanted to give this video a disclaimer. It's not at all like, diet food or the things I think you should do to be healthy. It's like any other alternative you can try, maybe this one instead of that. Not everything is junk food, and I personally eat junk food occasionally, I just don't make it part of my daily eating habits. So I just wanted to share some of these with you. Hope you guys try it. Let me know how you feel after trying it and let's get straight to the video.
Instead of sugary cereal, why not choose puffed grains like kamut or brown rice? There are many options. It's perfect with a few berries and a dash of almond milk and you've got a delicious bowl of cereal without all the added sugar.
Second, what if you swapped your white sugar for coconut sugar? It's just as sweet, has a great caramel flavor, and works perfectly for your morning cup of coffee.
Number three, we have chewing gum. Why not try swapping it for dried fruit? I love dried pineapple, cranberries, and dates. They are a wonderful alternative to dry candy. They are very sweet and chewy and you can feel comfortable eating them because they have no artificial coloring.
Furthermore, we have sports drinks, which are available in a wide variety of colors. I like to replace it with coconut water. It's filled with electrolytes, naturally sweetened, and so refreshing after a good workout. Put it in a water bottle and take it to your next workout.
Instead of a mayonnaise-based vegetable sauce, why not add it to hummus? You can even make your own or buy them at the store. It's basically just chickpeas and tahini and is delicious with vegetables.
Here's the fun: how about swapping your Parmesan cheese for nutritional yeast? If you haven't tried it before, give it a try. It's basically a deactivated yeast that tastes very cheesy and tastes amazing sprinkled on top of your pasta.
The following are just fun options if you are tired of plain rice. Why not try cauliflower rice? It's basically just raw cauliflower mixed in a food processor and you have something that looks like rice and works perfectly in a stir fry.
For lunch next Sunday, instead of fried eggs in oil, why not try poached eggs? You're skipping the oil because you're only using water to cook it and that's great on avocado toast.
Now, who doesn't love mayonnaise? It is very addicting and delicious. But it's not always the best for you if you eat a lot. So why not try some delicious, ripe mashed avocado? It works wonderfully on toast. You can literally put it in anything and it has a creamy, buttery taste and texture. How amazing is that display?
How about dumping your favorite soda or pop for sparkling water with fresh lime? Lime adds a hint of sweetness and flavor and sparkling water makes you feel like you are drinking soda.
Tell me, doesn't this look much more refreshing? Give it a try, I think you will like it. If you're tired of wraps or slices of bread, why not give some lettuce? It is very refreshing and crunchy and you can fill it with whatever you like. I had shredded chicken and salsa. Prepare a little for lunch, and you will be delighted to have extra vegetables in your diet.
Try swapping your oil for vegetable stock. It is perfect for sautéing vegetables. All you have to do is heat some in a nonstick skillet and put your greens and cook as you would with oil. You may need more of the stock as it evaporates, but your vegetables will still be crunchy and flavorful.
Try swapping your spaghetti for some noodles. Zoodles are simply zucchini that has spiraled. It's great to eat. You can make it raw, steamed, sauteed, as you like. They are great to eat and they add extra greens to your diet. Additionally, you can twist it around the fork like spaghetti.
fried pliers can be really tasty, I get it. But what if instead of making packaged fries, you could chop the sweet potatoes into chunks, roast them in a little coconut oil and sea salt, and they'll be just as crunchy as any other. Equally good dipped in organic tomato sauce.
How about ditching those french fries for the popcorn that pops up? It tastes good, is much healthier, and you can.
